Udupi, 16 Feb 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: A labourer was trapped in a 15 feet deep hole when mud caved in all of a sudden while drilling for a borewell at Maravanthe in Byndoor taluk on February 16, Sunday afternoon. Presently rescue efforts are in full swing. The person trapped is Rohith Kharvi, a local resident. It is said mud caved in upto 15 feet leaving Kharvi trapped beneath. Reportedly, the villagers on receiving the information thronged at the poultry farmer’s shop to get free chicken. Read More...Mangaluru, 21 March 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: With nine Covid-19 positive cases reported from the neighbouring district of Kasargod district, as a precautionary measure all vehicular traffic between Kerala and Karnataka has been completely banned, an order issued by Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh has said. As large number of people from Kasargod visiting Mangaluru on a daily basis for various works, adequate precautionary measures are in place and the traffic ban between the two districts will be effective from March 21, 2 pm till March 31.
