NIA seeks info on online ISIS propaganda
Bengaluru, 18 Sep 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has appealed to the public to bring to its notice any online propaganda related to the Islamic State of Iraq & Syria (ISIS). “ISIS is trying to spread its tentacles in India through continuous propaganda online. Gullible youth are being targeted on open social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Once a person shows interest, he or she is enticed to communicate with online handlers based abroad, using encrypted social media platforms,” stated the agency on Friday. “Depending on the gullibility of the person, the handlers use the person to upload online content, translate IS texts to local language, conspiracy, preparation of a module, collection of arms and ammunition, preparation of IEDs, terror funding

Minister Hegade's PA lodges complaint against hateful FB propaganda
Karwar, 12 Mar 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Alleging that a false and malicious campaign is being held against Minister Ananth Kumar Hegade, his personal assistant Suresh Shetty has lodged a complaint with market yard police of Sirsi. In his complaint, Shetty said that a FB page named 'Prajakiya' has wrongly quoted the minister saying that if the BJP comes to power then Kempegowda's statue will be pulled down and Shivaji's statue will be installed. The post has been shared as well. Shetty said that such posts will instil a sense of suspicion on the minister among Kannadigas and also disturb peace.
