Sanjiv Bhatt not allowed to move court, says his wife; SC terms allegations serious

New Delhi, 25 Sep 2018 [Fik/News Sources]:  The Supreme Court on Monday sought the Gujarat government’s response on a plea by the wife of dismissed IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt, alleging that she is compelled to move the court as her husband is being prevented from doing so. Describing the allegation by Shweta Bhatt that her husband was not being allowed to sign ‘vakalatnama’ and other documents necessary for approaching the court as “very serious”, the bench of Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice Navin Sinha asked the Gujarat government to respond. Gehlot to be Rajasthan CM

New Delhi, 13 Dec 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Veteran Congress leader Ashok Gehlot appears to have pipped Sachin Pilot in the race for Chief Minister in Rajasthan. The name of 67-year-old Gehlot, a two-time Chief Minister, will be announced by the party in Delhi on Thursday evening after Congress President Rahul Gandhi completes discussions with senior party leaders, party sources said. Gehlot and Sachin Pilot, the other main contender for the post, on Thursday met Gandhi. Gehlot returned to Jaipur, apparently after being told of the party’s decision to pick him as the Chief Minister.
