India records 2.76 lakh new COVID-19 cases; daily deaths below 4,000

New Delhi, 20 May 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: With 2,76,110 new coronavirus infections being reported in a day, India's total tally of COVID-19 cases climbed to 2,57,72,440, while the daily deaths were recorded below 4,000 after four days, taking the toll to 2,87,122, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Thursday. A total 3,874 fatalities due to COVID-19 were registered in a span of 24 hours. The active cases have further reduced to 31,29,878, comprising 12.14 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 86.74 per cent, the data updated at 8 am showed. SC directs state boards to declare Class 12 internal assessment results by July 31

New Delhi, 24 June 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: The Supreme Court on Thursday directed the state boards to declare internal assessment results of Class 12 examination by July 31, making it clear that there can't be a "fit-all" scheme and each board was autonomous and free to formulate its own evaluation method for students. Stating that it will not pass any direction for having a uniform scheme for assessment across the country, the apex court directed the state boards to ensure that scheme be formulated at the earliest and not later than 10 days from Thursday. Petrol price touches new high, breaches Rs 107 per litre mark in Mumbai

New Delhi, 15 July 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: Petrol prices in Mumbai rose to Rs 107.54 per litre on Thursday, touching another record high figure after fuel rates were hiked again. The price of diesel in Mumbai was Rs 97.45 per litre. Petrol prices were hiked by up to 35 paise whereas diesel prices were increased by 15 paise. In Delhi, the retail price of both petrol and diesel stood at Rs 101.54 per litre and Rs 89.87 per litre respectively. As for Bhopal, petrol prices soared to Rs 109.89 per litre and diesel costs Rs 98.67 per litre. West Bengal's Kolkata reported Rs 101.74 per litre for petrol and Rs 93.02 per litre for diesel.
