Bengaluru, 28 Nov 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: The Karnataka state government had decided to sanctioned Rs 100 crore to the police department for its modernization. Speaking after inaugurating the building of the Forensic Science Laboratory and laying the foundation stone for the Police Samudaya Bhavan Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa said, Modernisation of the police department is very important inorder to keep pace with the changing times. “In the coming budget, the government will allocate Rs 100 crore to modernize the police department by using the latest technologies,” he said, adding that it will help strengthen the police in investigating crimes effectively. An official informed that the academic year may officially begin in January. Read More...Bengaluru, 09 Jan 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: Owing to the spread of bird flu in Kerala, the Dakshina Kannada district administration banned transportation of poultry from the state temporarily. The Deputy Commissioner of the district, K V Rajendra directed in a notification that the vehicles transporting poultry to Kerala should be disinfected while re-entering the district after offloading. He added that this is being enforced as a precautionary measure since bird flu (H5N8) is being reported in Kerala.
