Students who didn’t pay fee will also write SSLC exam

Bengaluru, 15 July 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: Just days before the examination, many cases have come to light where SSLC students have been denied hall ticket for not paying fees.The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education S Suresh Kumar said that the BEOs have been instructed to ensure that candidates are not inconvenienced in any way. The SSLC board also issued a circular in the regard on Wednesday.  While the Commissioner of Public Instruction Anbu Kumar lauded schools for downloading admit cards to be distributed among students and  emphasised that students should not be denied admit cards at any cost. With the SSLC examinations scheduled to be held on July 19 and 22, the minister said that 100 per cent of the examination staff have been vaccinated. Karnataka HC notice on Konkan Railway seeking better facilities for passengers

Bengaluru, 26 Aug 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday issued notice to the Ministry of Railways, Chairman and Managing Director of Konkan Railway Corporation Limited, the General Manager, South Western Railway, Hubballi, and Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Karnataka, on a public interest litigation seeking directions to provide better facilities to Konkan Railway travellers. Rain in TN, Bengaluru leaves Gadag onion farmers in lurch

BENGALURU, 16 Nov 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: As the skies have opened up in Bengaluru and Tamil Nadu, onion growers of Gadag district are feeling the pinch.The prices have dropped by Rs 2,000 per quintal due to rain. Farmers usually transport onions to the Yeshwantpur market and many farmers who have already taken their produce to the market at the state capital have suffered huge losses.  The onion price at the Yeshwantpur market was Rs 4,500 per quintal last week and it dipped to Rs 2,200. Farmers, who have not transported their produce, are also suffering losses as they cannot leave the crop in the field due to rain and there is no proper facility to store harvested onions.  Farmers said that TN traders usually buy onions from the Yeshwantpur market.
