Labour department wants PL for laborers on voting day

Bengaluru, 10 May 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: The Labour Department has pressed for paid leave (PL) for the private company, institution workers, and laborers on May 12, to exercise their franchise during the state Assembly elections. “Paid leave should be sanctioned to the laborers to cast their votes. Man arrested for smuggling Goan liquor worth Rs 1 lakh to Honnavar

Karwar, 08 Sep 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Police have arrested one person for trying to smuggle Goan liquor worth Rs 1 lakh in a car near Binagapatana of the Karwar district, on Friday, September 7. The arrested accused has been identified as Vinay Shanta Nagerayaa of Bandishatta. On learning that alcohol was being transported illegally from Goa to Honnavar via roadway, a team led by Inspector Sharanagowda Patil leapt into action and intercepted the vehicle. CM reverses hike in bus fares minutes after it was announced

Bengaluru, 18 Sep 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: In order to compensate for the losses due to hike in fuel prices, officials of the State Road Transport Undertakings (SRTUs)- BMTC, KSRTC, NWKRTC, NEKRTC had asked the government to increase the fares by 18-20 per cent. They received the green signal for the hike in fares from transport department, but just after 25 minutes officials informed the media of the hike, Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy halted this. The CM's office said that they can't increase bus fares on the same day as the order was issued to reduce sales tax on petrol and diesel.
