5.86 lakh differently abled persons get UDID cards in Karnataka

Bengaluru, 23 Nov 2022 [Fik/News Sources]: Karnataka has achieved a milestone by distributing 5.86 lakh Unique Disability Identification Cards (UDID), said Health and Medical Education Minister K. Sudhakar on Tuesday. After reviewing the progress of the UDID card distribution in the State, the Minister said the cards are issued by the government to differently abled people to allow them to avail of several government benefits. “Karnataka has done well in UDID distribution for the disabled in collaboration with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. Ramanagaram district has the highest number of cards distributed. Pistols used to kill Gauri Lankesh, Dabholkar found by ATS?

Bengaluru, 27 August 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Two country made 7.6mm pistols, which were recovered from among the cache of illegal arms that was seized by the Maharashtra ATS from the alleged Hindutva brigade on August 10, may be the killer pistols that were used to silence Pune-based rationalist Prof Narendra Dabholkar and Bengaluru-based journalist activist Gauri Lankesh.  The pistols, according to sources, have been sent for ballistic examination to the Gujarat Forensic Science Laboratory. Kasaragod origin ISIS sympathiser deported from Afghanistan

Mangaluru, 22 September 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: It is alleged that Hamzafar, a resident of Kasaragod in Kerala, suspected ISIS sympathisers, has bee deported by  Afghanistan.  Nashidul Hamzafar, who along with 14 other youths had gone to join the terror organisation, officials said. They said he was taken into custody by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on arrival from Kabul. "Nashidul was detained by Afghan security agencies last year for illegally entering the country to join his associates in proscribed terrorist organisation ISIS/Daish," the agency’s spokesperson said in a statement.  It is the first extradition of alleged ISIS sympathiser from Afghanistan, the officials said.
