"Be field commanders in battle against Covid" – PM holds video conferencing with DCs, CM

Bengaluru, 19 May 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: Prime Minister Narendra Modi  has called upon Deputy Commissioners to  be the field commanders in the battle against Covid-19 and  to  chalk out measures to check the spread of the infection by taking  everyone including frontline warriors into confidence. Karnataka likely to receive very heavy rainfall, IMD issues orange alert for coastal districts till

Bhatkal, 14 June 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange alert for the coastal districts of Karnataka till June 17, while stating that the entire state is likely to experience widespread rainfall. The Director of the IMD unit of Bengaluru CS Patil said that the coastal Karnataka and South-interior Karnataka experienced widespread rainfall on Sunday. "Entire Karnataka state is very likely to experience widespread rainfall from June 13 to 17. Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dakshin Kannada, Shivamogga and Chikmagalur are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall for which orange alert is announced from June 13 to 17," Patil said. No reopening of schools without vaccines for below 18: Karnataka CM Yediyurappa

Bengaluru, 23 June 2021 [Fik/News Sources]:  Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Tuesday said that no decision can be taken yet about opening schools as those below 18 years cannot be vaccinated with clinical trials for this age group still on. After receiving the 92-page interim report from the 13 member high-level committee, headed by noted cardiac surgeon Devi Prasad Shetty, set up to advise on measures to control a possible third wave, he told reporters that though the committee has recommended reopening of schools, the state has not decided yet on this issue.
