Bengaluru ranks 26th, Delhi 27th globally in annual price rise of luxury homes

Bengaluru, 17 August 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Bengaluru and the national capital ranked 26th and 27th, respectively, globally in annual price appreciation of luxury residential properties, according to Knight Frank report. Mumbai is at 32nd position, the consultant said in its ”Prime Global Cities Index Q2 2020” report. While Bengaluru and Mumbai moved up by one place each, Delhi jumped five notches as compared with the previous report of Q1, 2020. The capital value increased 0.6 per cent in Bengaluru and 0.3 per cent in the national capital, but fell 0.6 per cent in Mumbai during the April-June quarter this year, compared with the same period last year. Bengaluru riots: Cong MLA Akhanda Murthy wants ex-Mayor Sampath Raj expelled from party

Bengaluru, 18 Nov 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Pulikeshinagar Congress MLA Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy, whose house was attacked in the August 11 Bengaluru riots, reiterated his demand that his party should take immediate steps to expel former Congress Mayor R Sampath Raj and Congress corporator Abdul Rakeeb Zakir, who are accused in the riot case. Karnataka farmer organisations extend support to Bharath Bandh on December 8

Bengaluru, 07 Dec 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Thousands of farmers in Karnataka are set to join the 'Bharat bandh' on December 8 to protest against the three controversial farm laws and in support of their repeal, Karnataka Rajya Riatha Sangha president K Chandreshekar said on Sunday. "Members of around 300 farmers' organisations will participate in the day-long bandh on Tuesday in cities and towns across the state except in Bengaluru, where it (shutdown) will be observed on Wednesday for logistic reasons," Chandrashekhar told reporters in Bengaluru.
