Rain, thunder and lightning in Subrahmanya, Sullia
Udupi, 09 May 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: Good rain was reported from some places in Dakshina Kannada district on Wednesday as well. Rain accompanied by thunder and lightning was experienced in Subrahmanya and Sullia taluks. There was slight drizzling in the morning at Brahmavar in Udupi district. Subrahmanya received rain with lightning. There was good rain in Kollamugru area. Sullia experienced rain in the afternoon, which reduced and then started again in the evening. Good rain was reported from Aranthodu, Guttigaru an Panja areas while rain was reported in the evening from Bellare and Nintikallu regions. There was drizzling in Belthangady taluk. Over 500 children rescued from rly stations across B’luru division last year: RPF
Bengaluru, 26 May 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: Over 500 children have been resued by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of South Western Railway are from Bengaluru division over the past year. This makes the Bengaluru division the worst affected in terms of child trafficking in the entire South Western Railways region. Addressing presspersons on the occasion of International Missing Children’s Day on Saturday, May, 25 RPF officials said they have decided to intensify Operation Nanhe Farishte, a special drive to rescue trafficked children. It is gathered that in 2018, the RPF had rescued as many as 1,299 children (1,125 boys and 174 girls), of which 523 (458 boys and 65 girls) are from Bengaluru division. Bajpe, 09 June 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: Gold concealed in the inner garments worn by a passenger was seized by the custom officials at the Mangaluru International Airport on Saturday, June 8. The passenger attempting to smuggle the precious metal had arrived from Dubai by Air India Express flight IX814.
