Bengaluru, 23 Oct 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: The report of the magisterial probe into the December 19, 2019 police firing incident in Mangaluru, has been completed and the same has been handed over to the High Court in a sealed envelope, informed Additional Advocate General Dhyan Chinnappa while placing his arguments before the High Court on October 23, Friday in connection with a PIL filed by the late freedom fighter H S Doreswamy and others seeking a special investigation team to investigate the police firing.
The Additional Advocate General also stated that according to the report the police were not at fault and that the government has accepted the report.
The High Court Divisional Bench led by Chief Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi which took note of the Additional Advocate General’s submissions, said the court will ask those concerned to furnish a copy of the report to the advocate for the petitioners once the court opens the envelope and verifies the report.
The hearing has been adjourned to November 30.
