Mangaluru, 06 Oct 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: As the Arabian sea is likely to erupt following depression, the Met department has warned all fishermen to bring boats which ventured into the sea for fishing to the shore.
Following the warning, more than 300 boats have returned to the shore, said Purse-seine Fishermen Association President Mohan Bengre.
The Met department and the district administration have warned the fishermen not venture into the sea for fishing as the sea may erupt between October 6 and 8 and asked fishermen to back by October 5. Now, the association president has informed all the fishermen.
More than 700 boats which were on fishing work will return to the shore on friday, he told to 'Varthabharati'.
Purse-seine ships do not have any problems as they operate within the distance of just one hour travel. Such boats or ships could be contacted over mobile phones and they were being given information continuously, he said.
