Kumaraswamy swearing-in ceremony today to be a show of opposition unity

Bengaluru, 23 May 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: A JD(S)-Congress coalition government headed by H D Kumaraswamy will be sworn-in today in Karnataka at a ceremony attended by a galaxy of opposition leaders and chief ministers, a development that could plant a seed for a broad-based anti-BJP platform before the Lok Sabha polls next year. Karnataka Congress president G Parameshwara will be sworn-in as the deputy chief minister. Congress's Ramesh Kumar, a former minister, will be the next Assembly speaker, while the deputy speaker's post will go to the JD(S). The Congress would have 22 ministers and JD(S) 12. Taiwan firm offers to build industrial park near Bengaluru

Bengaluru, 12 July 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Taiwan's leading developer Century Development Corporation (CDC) has offered to build an industrial park near the international airport on the city's northern outskirts, an official statement said on Wednesday. "The offer was made by CDC Chairman Theodre Huang and Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre in India head Chung Kwang to Karnataka Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy at a meeting here," said the statement. The industrial park is aimed at attracting investment from the South East Asia countries, including China and Japan in industries related to robotics, aerobics, hardware, e-commerce and science & technology. A dream come true for trekkers

Mangaluru, 23 Oct 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Students of an engineering college in Mangaluru claim they spotted the rare Neelakurinji blossoms in Kumara Parvatha hill ranges on the Western Ghats near Kukke Subrahmanya. Sukumara K, Chetan Kumar, and Vivian Joel had gone trekking to the hill ranges on October 19 and 20. “It was unexpected and the best experience during our trekking this time,” Mr. Sukumara told The Hindu. “It was my third trekking trip to the parvatha. Earlier, I used to hold the same neelakurinji plants for support while climbing the hills. Now they have flowered. We enjoyed a lot,” he said. The students began their trek on Friday afternoon and stayed at Girigadde overnight. They began climbing the parvatha from 6 a.m. on Saturday and spotted the flowers for the first time at Marigundi.
