Kuwait to impose curfew to stem coronavirus

KUWAIT CITY, 22 March 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Kuwait will impose a partial curfew on Sunday as part of the fight against the novel coronavirus, according to the official KUNA news agency. The curfew will last from 5 p.m. local time until 4 a.m. (1400-0100GMT), KUNA said, citing the Kuwaiti Cabinet. Violators could be jailed up to three years or fined up to 10,000 dinars ($33,000), Deputy Prime Minister Anas al-Saleh said. He said the curfew was imposed "due to non-compliance with the precautionary measures to fight the coronavirus spread." Al-Saleh said the Kuwaiti Cabinet also decided to extend a suspension of the government and private sectors for another two weeks. Oman records over 3,000 virus cases in 10 days

ANKARA, 23 May 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Coronavirus cases in Oman have almost doubled in the past 10 days, reaching close to 6,800 on Friday. The country’s Health Ministry said 424 more people – the week's highest figure – tested positive for COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 6,794. The number marks a rise of more than 3,000 since May 12, when the overall count stood at 3,721. The ministry also confirmed two more fatalities on Friday, which raised Oman’s death toll to 32. A total of 1,821 patients have recovered in the country since it confirmed the first COVID-19 case on Feb. 24, according to the ministry. Israeli troops kill Palestinian in West Bank clash

RAMALLAH, 11 Dec 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: Israeli troops shot and killed a Palestinian and injured others on Friday during clashes at a protest against Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Health Ministry and medics said. The Israeli military said that hundreds of Palestinians had gathered in the area, south of the Palestinian city of Nablus, burning tires and throwing rocks toward troops at the scene. The troops “responded with riot dispersal means to restore order. We are aware of reports that a Palestinian was killed,” the military said in a statement. The Palestinian killed was shot in the head, and died soon after being rushed to hospital, the Palestinian Health Ministry said in a statement.
