BJP will be dethroned if Ram Temple is not built, warns Shiv Sena

Mumbai, 09 Oct 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: The Shiv Sena on Tuesday intensified its attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, and warned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government that it will be thrown out of power if it fails to build the temple, as promised. The Shiv Sena, in an editorial published in their mouthpiece Saamana, opined that the temple issue has been reduced to a mere poll promise and therefore, has become a topic for ridiculing Hindutva. “Ram Mandir banao, nahi toh Ram naam satya hai,” read the headline of the edit piece. “When BJP came to power in both Centre and Uttar Pradesh, we believed that the Ram Temple will soon be constructed in Ayodhya but nothing happened. Maulana Ghulam Mohamad Vastanvi removed from Waqf Board membership

Aurangabad, 20 Oct 2018 [Fik/News Sources]:  Maulana Ghulam Mohamad Vastanvi has been removed from Board membership over alleged irregularities committed in transfer and lease of Waqf properties. He has been banned from contesting in the next election of the Board. In an order issued on October 16, signed by Pradhan Secretary Shyam Tagde, it was stated that Maulana has been found guilty in Badshahi Mulla Masjid Trust lease case.  The action against Maulana is based on a complaint lodged by Shabbir Ansari, president of All India Muslim OBC Organisation Trust, to the principal secretary of the MDD on November 29, 2017. Later the Minority Welfare Department issued orders in which the allegations were found to be true. On September 21 Maulana Ghulam Mohammed Vastanvi will give a reply to the accusations made against him.

Amnesty releases chilling report on detention camps in Assam, urges authorities to end gross human rights violations

New Delhi, 25 Nov 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Releasing a damning report on detention camps in Assam, global rights body’s Amnesty India Friday  urged the authorities to end human rights violations against persons declared foreigners by the Foreigners Tribunals and held in detention centres across the state and sought introduction of a “statutory time limit” on their confinement as a suspect cannot be confined to more than 90 days.   The Amnesty also presented some former detainees before the media who narrated their ordeal in the detention camps. Ashraf Ali and Kismat Ali, both 41, said they had been picked up from their homes in Sonajuli village, in Assam’s Udalguri district, in August 2015 and were sent to a foreigners’ detention camp in Goalpara.
