New Delhi, 03 May 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: According to data obtained from the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR), Telangana carried out 4,035 tests for coronavirus infection between April 19 and 26. That number fell to 2,506 in the last four days of the month, that is, from April 27 to April 30. On April 21, in a decision that defies logic, the Telangana government decided not to test anyone without Covid-19 symptoms or those who are not primary contacts of Covid-19 patients. Muslim man called “terrorist”, lynched in Saharanpur
New Delhi, 23 June 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: A video of a Muslim man being lynched emerged on social media on 21 June. The incident happened on June 18 in Dehra village near Deoband town of Saharanpur district in Uttar Pradesh. In the video a mob can be seen shouting and hitting Israr, the victim, with sticks as he lies covered with muck in a moribund state. Police have filed an FIR under various sections including murder and rioting naming a group of villagers. But the police have also held the deceased responsible for instigating the mob. Mukhtar Ahmed survived Spanish Flu at 4 Coronavirus at 106 years
New Delhi, 11 July 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: A 106-year-old man Mukhtar Ahmed, a resident of Central Delhi’s Nawabganj, who was 4 years old during the Spanish flu in 1918, was discharged from hospital after recovering from COVID-19. The centenarian, admitted in Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital on April 14 after been infected with the novel coronavirus was discharged on May 1 and is back home. Dressed in a white kurta-pyjama, Ahmed who sports a white beard a gentle grin recounted to ANI about his stay at the hospital.
