26 test positive for Covid-19 in Uttara Kannada dist

Karwar, 03 August 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: As many as 72 persons were discharged from various hospitals in Uttar Kannada district on Sunday after they recovered from Covid-19 while 26 fresh positive cases were reported in the district on the same day. With this, the total cases rose to 2,196 in the district. So far, 1,490 were cured of the infection while there are still 682 active cases. 24 death cases were reported in the district.  Of 72 persons who recovered from the infection on Sunday, 43 persons are from Haliyal and Dandeli taluks, 16 from Sirsi, 9 from Karwar, one each from Kumta, Honnavar, Bhatkal and Yallapur

Tourists horde Jog falls; Rs 1.95 lakhs collected on Aug 23

Sagar, 24 August 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: A record number of tourists flocked to the world-famous Jog Falls here, which was desolate for more than 3 months, on Sunday, August 23.
