Congress to use CD row in polls, BJP not worried

Coast Guard deploys patrol vessels to watch West coast

KARWAR, 05 Apr 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: To keep an eye on the West coast in the district, the Indian Coast Guard Services (ICGS) has deployed two fast patrol vessels, which have been pressed into service since April 1, 2021. The coast guard has obtained these fast patrol vessels as an addition to its existing fleet, which will be rebased at Karwar. Earlier, they were based in New Mangalore. The vessels are named after the educational reformer Savithri Bai Phule and Kasturba Gandhi, wife of Mahatma Gandhi. They will be used to patrol the Uttara Kannada district, from Majali in the North to Bhatkal in the South. According to Coast Guard officials, these vessels are built by M/s Goa Shipyard Limited. COVID-19: Karnataka’s COVID tally crosses 20L with 39,510 fresh infections, 480 deaths

Bengaluru, 12 May 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: Karnataka’s COVID tally on Tuesday crossed the 20 lakh mark since the outbreak of the pandemic with 39,510 new infections, while 480 more deaths took the toll to 19,852, the health department said. While the total caseload touched 20,13,193, the state has 5,87,452 active cases. So far, 14,05,869 people have been discharged including 22,584 on Tuesday. Bengaluru Urban district reported 15,879 infections and 259 fatalities, which is highest in the state. The city has so far reported 9,83,519 infections and 8,690 deaths. There were 3,62,696 active cases. Ballari loggegd 1,558 infections and 28 fatalities.
