New Delhi, 29 August 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: After the Wall Street Journal expose about Facebook’s bias towards the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), American weekly news magazine Time has revealed that the social media giant is reluctant to police the members and supporters of the BJP as top officials of Facebook India and WhatsApp India have links with the ruling party. “Activists, who have spent years monitoring and reporting hate speech by Hindu nationalists, tell Time that they believe Facebook has been reluctant to police posts by members and supporters of the BJP because it doesn’t want to pick fights with the government that controls its largest market. New Delhi, 08 Sep 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Putting an end to speculation about him joining the Congress after being released from jail recently, Dr Kafeel Khan said that he is a doctor and would like to remain so. He was recently released from Mathura jail after the Allahabad High Court quashed his detention under the stringent National Security Act (NSA). The court had ordered his immediate release, asserting that his speech at the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) didn’t promote hatred or violence, rather gave a call for national integrity. SBI ATM withdrawal: Bank makes important announcement
New Delhi, 17 Sep 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: State Bank of Indian (SBI) has extended OTP based cash withdrawal facility at ATMs to 24×7 for the amount Rs. 10, 000 or more. SBI ATM withdrawal rule applicable from Sept 18 From 18th September 2020, customers who want to withdraw amount Rs. 10, 000 or more have to enter One Time Password (OTP) along with the debit card pin. Since 1st January 2020, this facility was active between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. Now, it will be extended to 24×7. Bank’s statement The bank’s statement said, “To protect customers from falling prey to fraudsters, SBI now extended OTP based cash withdrawal facility to 24×7 for amount Rs. 10, 000 and above.
