Bangladesh to give 30M vaccine doses for free
DHAKA, 01 Dec 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Bangladesh’s government on Monday announced the free distribution of 30 million doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine expected to be available for patients in January. The country’s Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam made the announcement at a news conference after a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The distribution will be done in line with World Health Organization protocols that determine who will get the vaccine first, he said. YPG withdraws from Syria's Afrin as Turkey-backed forces take control
Afrin, 18 Mar 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Turkish Armed Forces and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) entered Afrin city in northwestern Syria as PKK-linked YPG militants withdrew in the face of a Turkish-led border security mission, TRT World has learned. FSA spokesman Mohammad Hamadin told TRT World that the YPG had pulled out from most of the city and that the FSA was searching for any remaining militants. Fleeing YPG members have withdrawn to regime-held areas to the south of the city, the spokesman added. The Turkish Armed Forces said in a tweet that it is currently searching the area it captured in Afrin's town centre for mines and home-made explosives.
