Mukhtar Ansari gets bail in 14-yr-old case

New Delhi, 02 Feb 2022 [Fik/News Sources]:  There is finally some good news for beleaguered mafia don-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari. Ansari has been granted bail in a 14-year-old Gangster Act case. The Ghazipur Session Court granted bail to Ansari on a personal bond of Rs one lakh on Tuesday. He is currently lodged at Banda jail in Uttar Pradesh. Since there are several other cases that are lodged against Ansari in Mau and other parts of Uttar Pradesh, his release from the jail is unlikely in near future. A sitting MLA from Mau assembly seat, Mukhtar Ansari has been lodged in jail since 2005 for the murder of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai. Amid political row, Delimitation Commission gets two more months for redrawing J&K poll map

New Delhi, 23 Feb 2022 [Fik/News Sources]: The Centre on Tuesday extended the Jammu & Kashmir Delimitation Commission’s term by two months to complete its task of redrawing electoral constituencies in the Union Territory.  Formed in March 2020, the panel was granted a one-year extension last year. The term was to end on March 5. Security tightened as MNS, BJP call for uprooting Aurangzeb’s grave

New Delhi, 19 May 2022 [Fik/News Sources]: The security in and around the grave of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in Khuldabad was tightened following calls by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) to ‘uproot’ it, here on Wednesday. While MNS activist Gajanan Kale on Tuesday questioned the need for preserving Aurangzeb’s grave, BJP MLC Prasad Lad threatened to remove the small monument which is one of the major tourist attractions in and around Aurangabad.
