Saudi threatens military action against Qatar over S-400: report

Doha, 02 Jun 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Saudi Arabia, one of the countries blockading Qatar, has threatened military action against its Gulf neighbour if it acquires the Russian-made S-400 aerial defence system, French daily Le Monde reported on Friday. In a letter addressed to President Emmanuel Macron of France, Saudi King Salman expressed his "profound concern" with talks under way between Moscow and Doha for the sale of the advanced anti-aircraft weapon system. Rohingya mourn first anniversary of Rakhine massacre

ANKARA, 25 Aug 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Rohingya refugees in makeshift camps in southeastern Bangladesh are recalling their plight on the first anniversary of Myanmar’s brutal crackdown on the Muslim minority group in the Rakhine state. More than 750,000 refugees, mostly children and women, fled Myanmar and crossed into Bangladesh after military forces launched a crackdown on the minority Muslim community on Aug. 25, 2017. Amena Khatun, 45, told Anadolu Agency of the horrific attack on her family. "They killed my elder son in front of my eyes while they burnt my house and took away our cows," Khatun said. Trump yet to speak to Saudis about missing journalist

WASHINGTON, 10 Oct 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday he has yet to speak to Saudi officials about the case of a Saudi journalist who went missing in Turkey last week.  Trump said he would raise the case "at some point" with Riyadh, but did not specify when the talks would take place.  Saudi Arabia on Tuesday invited Turkish experts and officials to visit its Istanbul Consulate to look into last week’s disappearance of Jamal Khashoggi.
