Lebanon: Security forces, protesters clash in capital

BEIRUT, 27 Jan 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Lebanon's security forces on Monday detained scores of demonstrators in front of the country's parliament amid tensions before lawmakers began discussing the 2020 budget. Security forces closed all roads and entrances leading to the parliament in the capital Beirut, where the draft general budget law, proposed by the previous government, will be discussed and approved, according to Anadolu Agency's reporter. Demonstrators managed to remove barbed wire after skirmishes with security forces at the northern entrance of parliament, trying to prevent legislators from participating in the budget session. Syrian, Russian airstrikes kill 4 civilians in Idlib

IDLIB, 06 Feb 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Russian and Syrian regime airstrikes in Syria killed four civilians in Idlib, a Syrian civil defense group announced Wednesday. The Syrian opposition aircraft observatory said areas near Idlib’s center and villages near the town of Saraqib were targeted. The White Helmets civil defense group said four civilians were killed. The Bashar al-Assad regime and its allies have continued intensified air and land attacks on civilian settlements in the Idlib de-escalation zone. Iran halts all sports events over coronavirus fears

ISTANBUL, 05 March 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: All sports events were cancelled in Iran due to spread of new coronavirus known as COVID-19 across country, local media reported on Thursday. All sports events have been called off in country until March 20 in accordance with the decision of the Iranian center working to prevent and combat coronavirus, Sports Medicine News Agency of Iran reported. According to the decision, all sports competitions and trainings were cancelled, while sports centers were closed. The death toll from the new coronavirus in Iran climbed to 92, according to the latest figures of Iranian Health Ministry and the World Health Organization (WHO).
