Key deputy of Daesh/ISIS leader arrested in Iraq

BAGHDAD, 04 Dec 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: Iraqi police arrested a key deputy of deceased Daesh/ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi on Tuesday in Kirkuk province. Abu Khaldoun was the terrorist group's military commander for Salah al-Din province, according to Iraq's Security Media Cell communications body. He was arrested in the town of Hawija and was carrying a fake ID card. Under Baghdadi, Daesh spread over wide segments of Iraq and Syria beginning in 2013, eventually claiming the formation of a "caliphate" in the region as it plotted and carried out gruesome attacks that reached far beyond its main territorial bastion. Malawi teachers demand April salaries ahead of lockdown

ANKARA, 15 April 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Malawian teachers on Wednesday called upon the government to release their April salaries before imposing a nationwide lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus, local media reported. "The minister of education must be aware that most teachers in Malawi are working far from their home of origin, and salaries received last month cannot take teachers through this lockdown period," Nyasa Times news website quoted the Teachers Union of Malawi (TUM) as saying.
