JAKARTA, 11 August July 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: The death toll from Sunday’s earthquake that rocked eastern Indonesia has reached 387 on Saturday, local authorities said. In a news conference, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, spokesman for Indonesia’s disaster management agency, said nearly 14,000 people were also injured in the earthquake, while more than 387,000 people were evacuated to safe areas. Nugroho said: “387 dead, 13.688 injured, and 387.067 displaced people. 67,875 houses, 468 schools, 6 bridges, 3 hospitals, 10 children's clinics, 15 mosques, 50 musholas, and 20 office buildings are damaged.” While the search and rescue operations are ongoing, the officials call for donations to provide food and drinking water to the victims. According to a statement from the Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG), the smoke from the volcano -- which is located in the region of Lampung province -- reached a height of up to 200 meters.
