No consensus with Russian delegation on Idlib yet

ANKARA, 11 Feb 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Turkey's foreign minister said Monday that there has been no consensus with the visiting Russian delegation so far regarding the escalating situation in Idlib, Syria. Mevlut Cavusoglu’s remarks came during a joint news conference with visiting Slovenian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Miro Cerar in Ankara. He said that since the talks had failed in the first meeting on Saturday, a second session was in progress. Turkey will not abandon Idlib observation posts: envoy

WASHINGTON, 20 Feb 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Turkey is not abandoning the observation posts in Syria's Idlib area, Ankara’s UN envoy said Wednesday.  Speaking at UN Security Council meeting in New York, Feridun Sinirlioglu said Turkey will continue to respond by all necessary means against any attacks by the Bashar al-Assad regime on Turkish troops. Last week, five more Turkish soldiers were martyred when they were deliberately targeted by Assad forces. Turkish military immediately retaliated in self-defense. Tripoli said to be set for offensive on warlord Haftar

TRIPOLI, 04 March 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: The forces of Libya’s internationally recognized government will shift from a defensive to an offensive stance against the militia of warlord Khalifa Haftar, said the government's interior minister on Tuesday. Speaking on Libyan TV channel 218, Fathi Bashagha said the Government of National Accord (GNA) will take further steps to repel Haftar's militia from around Tripoli, Libya’s capital, where the GNA is based.
