Kuwait, Tunisia receive medical supplies from abroad to fight COVID-19

Kuwait, 12 April 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Arab states – Kuwait and Tunisia – have received medical supplies from foreign nations in aid to fight the spread of COVID-19, local media reported on Saturday. A Tunisair flight from China carrying 27 tonnes of medical equipment landed in the country on Saturday, with more aid flights expected in the coming days, according to Health Minister Abdellatif Mekki. Meanwhile, Kuwait has also received an Indian Air Force plane carrying medical supplies, according to state-run KUNA. Both countries have announced repatriation efforts to help stranded citizens amid the outbreak. Palestinian detained by Israel diagnosed with COVID-19

JERUSALEM, 25 April 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: A Palestinian detainee, who was recently taken into custody by Israeli forces, has tested positive for coronavirus, Israeli local media said on Friday. “One of the Palestinian detainees was diagnosed with coronavirus in Al-Maskoubiya prison [West Jerusalem]," the Israeli Broadcast Authority said, adding seven prison wardens were placed in quarantine. No further information regarding the detainee was disclosed. The Jerusalem Post said that the detainee is 21 years old and a resident of the West Bank. UN sends truckloads of aid to Idlib, Syria

HATAY, 07 May 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: The United Nations sent on Wednesday 31 truckloads of humanitarian aid to Syria’s northwestern Idlib province where millions are desperately seeking assistance. The trucks loaded with the supplies entered Syria through the Cilvegozu border gate in Turkey's southern Hatay province, which borders Idlib. The aid will be distributed to people in Idlib city and nearby rural areas. Syria has been ravaged by a civil war since early 2011 when the Assad regime cracked down on pro-democracy protesters.
