AZAZ, 03 June 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: At least 14 people were killed at a car bomb attack in northwestern Syria on Sunday, according to local sources. The incident took place at a market in the opposition-held city of Azaz, near the Turkish border, according to the sources who spoke anonymously due to fears of safety. No group has yet claimed responsibility for attack. In April, hundreds of Palestinian detainees staged a hunger-strike for specific demands from the Israeli prison service. Along with better living conditions and more family visits, hunger strikers then demanded the removal of cellphone-signal jammers from inside Israeli detention

In a statement, the army said that the individuals had been arrested for “suspected involvement in popular terror activities”. It, however, did not elaborate on the nature of these alleged “activities”. The Israeli army carries out frequent arrest campaigns across the West Bank -- including occupied East Jerusalem -- on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians. According to Palestinian figures, roughly 5,700 Palestinians -- including numerous women and children -- are currently languishing in Israeli detention
