Israel refers prisoner to trial for writing kids' book
JERUSALEM, 11 Oct 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: The Israeli authorities have referred a Palestinian author -- who is already serving a life prison sentence -- to trial for writing a children’s book. According to Israeli media reports, Palestinian prisoner/author Walid Daka will be tried Wednesday evening at Israel’s Megiddo Prison for writing the book. Daka is already serving out a life prison sentence after having been convicted for abducting and killing an Israeli soldier in 1984. Israeli Interior Minister Aryeh Deri has reportedly banned the sale of the book -- entitled “The Story of the Oil Secret” -- in Daka’s hometown of Baka al-Garbiyeh in northern Israel. Jordan cancels 2 annexes from peace treaty with Israel
AMMAN, 22 Oct 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Jordanian King Abdullah II on Sunday cancelled two annexes from the 1994 peace treaty with Israel. “Baqoura and Ghumar were at the top of our priorities,” King Abdullah said on Twitter. “Our decision is to terminate the Baqoura and Ghamar annexes from the peace treaty out of our keenness to take all decisions that would serve Jordan and Jordanians." Jordan leased the two territories to Israel under Annexes 1/B and 1/C under the Jordanian-Israeli Peace Agreement in 1994. The lease is scheduled to expire on Oct. 25. IDLIB, 13 Mar 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: The Bashar al-Assad regime forces attacked southern Idlib with white phosphorus bombs, forbidden as weapon, according to the White Helmets civil defense agency. Mustafa Haj Yousuf, head of the White Helmets in Idlib, told Anadolu Agency regime forces deployed in Abu Dali village in Hama province and Iran-backed foreign terrorist groups, attacked southern Idlib with white phosphorus bombs. “The attack was carried out twice. In both of them, some 40 bombs loaded with white phosphorus were thrown,” Haj Yousuf said, adding his group failed to get any casualty information till now.
