Iran: 25 killed in attack on military march

TEHRAN, 23 September 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: The toll of people killed and injured on Saturday in the armed attack targeted a military march in the southwestern Iranian city of Ahwaz risen to 25 people killed and 60 people injured, according to Iran’s IRNA official news agency. Earlier Saturday, Iranian local media reported that, at least 24 people killed and 53 people injured over the attack, explaining that, including members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. Saudi Arabia opens high-speed rail linking holy cities

JEDDAH, 26 Sep 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Saudi Arabia launched a high-speed railway Tuesday connecting Islam’s holiest cities.  The 450-kilometer (280-mile) Haramain High-Speed Rail system linking Makkah and Medina is expected to relieve traffic congestion and is also part of efforts to boost tourism and reduce reliance on oil revenue. With a speed of up to 300 kilometers per hour, the electric trains on the line will carry around 60 million passengers per year. Hamas hails Russia offer to host talks with rival Fatah

GAZA, 22 Dec 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Hamas on Friday welcomed the announcement of a Russian initiative aimed at rejuvenating efforts to achieve inter-Palestinian reconciliation.  In a statement, Hamas said it welcomed Moscow's offer to host a meeting between it and Fatah in hopes of ending more than a decade of bitter division between the rival Palestinian factions.   Speaking to reporters after a meeting with Palestinian counterpart Riyad al-Maliki, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Friday confirmed Moscow's readiness to host talks between Fatah, Hamas and other Palestinian factions.  Years of Palestinian disunity, Lavrov said, had hindered the launch of direct talks with Israel.  In late November, Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh received an official invitation to visit Moscow.
