Ghost Advertisers Promoted BJP on Facebook during Elections: Investigation
New Delhi, 29 Mar 2022 [Fik/News Sources]: Journalists of The Reporters’ Collective who carried out an investigation into the political advertisements placed on Facebook found a hidden world of ghost and surrogate advertisers which promoted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during 2019 general elections and state elections till November 2020. The investigation done by three journalists, Kumar Sambhav, Nayantara Ranganathan and Shreegireesh Jalihal, has been published on Al-Jazeera English’s website in four parts. Militant involved in April 4 attack on CRPF men killed in Srinagar encounter
New Delhi, 10 April 2022 [Fik/News Sources]: A militant, who was involved in the April 4 attack on CRPF men in which a jawan was killed and another injured, has been killed in the ongoing encounter with security forces in Srinagar, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar said. Police said a contingent of police and CRPF men launched a joint search operation at Bishember Nagar area of uptown Srinagar in the early hours on Sunday. He said while the search operation was going on, militants hiding in the area fired on the troops. The fire was returned by the troops, triggering an encounter. IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said one militant has been killed in the encounter and another is trapped. “The killed militant was involved in a recent attack on CRPF men in Srinagar,” he said. Make clear distinction between structures for Monument Mitra scheme
Panaji, 05 May 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: A travel and tourism association in Goa on Saturday said the “Monument Mitra” scheme should make a distinction between religious and non-religious structures before putting them up for adoption. The Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG), an umbrella body for the travel and tourism industry enterprises in the coastal state also said a transparent process should be followed for adoption of heritage structures by the corporates. The association expressed its views even as the coalition government and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Goa have formally panned the central tourism ministry’s “Monument Mitra” scheme.
