Court Stays Delhi Police’s Search Warrant against Lawyer Mehmood Pracha

New Delhi, 11 Mar 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: A Delhi court on Wednesday put a stay on the search warrant issued by the Delhi Police’s Special Cell against prominent lawyer Mehmood Pracha in connection with a case related to Delhi riots till the adjudication in his application against the raid conducted on Tuesday. Pracha told Clarion India that a police team of Special Cell went to conduct raids at his office at a time when he was not present there. Poll Panel Sends Notices to 8 Assam Newspapers for Carrying BJP Ad in the Form of Headline

New Delhi, 31 Mar 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has sent notices to eight leading newspapers of Assam for carrying an advertisement of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the form of a headline which claimed that the saffron party will win all 47 seats where elections were held in the first phase on Saturday. The eight leading English, Assamese, Hindi and Bengali newspapers that published the advertisements are the Assam Tribune, Asomiya Pratidin, Aamar Asom, Niyomia Barta, Asomiya Khabor, Dainik Asam, Dainik Jugasankha and Dainik Purvodaya.
