Haryana extends lockdown till August 9
New Delhi, 01 Aug 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: The Haryana government Saturday extended the COVID-19 lockdown in the state by another week till August 9, according to an official communication. However, the current lockdown relaxations with respect to the reopening of shops, malls, restaurants, religious places and corporate offices will continue. "The Mahamari Alert-Surakshit Haryana (coronavirus lockdown) is extended for another week, that is from August 2 (5 am onwards) to August 9 (till 5 am) in the state of Haryana," according to an order issued by Chief Secretary Vijai Vardhan. The order was issued under provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005. Assam Congress decides to break ties with Ajmal's AIUDF, BPF
New Delhi, 31 Aug 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: The opposition 'Grand Alliance' in Assam is set to collapse with the state Congress on Monday announcing that it has decided to break ties with Badruddin Ajmal-led AIUDF and the Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF). A core committee meeting, chaired by state Congress president Bhupen Bora, observed that the AIUDF's "behaviour and attitude in relation with the BJP has baffled the members of the Congress," party spokesperson Bobbeeta Sharma told reporters. India logs 14,146 fresh Covid cases, 144 new deaths in last 24 hours
New Delhi, 17 Oct 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: India recorded 14,146 fresh COVID-19 infections in a day taking the cumulative cases to 3,40,67,719 while the death toll climbed to 4,52,124 with 144 more fatalities, according to the Union Health Ministry's data on Sunday. Active cases have declined to 1,95,846 and comprise 0.57 per cent of the total infections. The national Covid recovery rate was recorded at 98.10 per cent, the data updated at 8 am showed. In a day, the active caseload declined by 5,786. A total of 11,00,123 tests were conducted on Saturday, taking the cumulative tests conducted so far for detection of COVID-19 in the country to 59,09,35,381.
