COVID-19 curfew extended by two days in Uttar Pradesh

New Delhi, 03 May 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: Amid a surge in coronavirus cases, the Uttar Pradesh government on Monday decided to increase the duration of the weekend lockdown by 48 hours to cover Tuesday and Wednesday also. "The corona curfew from Friday 8 pm to Tuesday 7 am has been extended for 48 hours. Now it will continue till May 6 till 7 am," Additional Chief Secretary, Information, Navneet Sehgal told PTI. All shops and establishments will now remain closed till Thursday 7 am. This arrangement is for this week only, he said adding that decision has been taken for breaking the chain of coronavirus. HC Issues Notice to MP Govt over Violence against Minorities during Ram Mandir Fund Collection Drive

New Delhi, 09 June 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: The Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court on Monday issued notices to the state government, police and administrative officials over negligence to curb violence against minorities in Indore, Ujjain and Mandsaur during Ram Mandir fund collection drive in December last year. The bench headed by Chief Justice Mohammed Rafiq and Justice Sujoy Paul gave the government six weeks to respond on the PIL filed by former chief minister of the state and Rajya Sabha MP Digvijay Singh.
