CJM's phone call leads to comedian Munawar Faruqui's release after SC order
New Delhi, 07 Feb 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: A day after a Supreme Court bail order, it took a late night phone call from a Chief Judicial Magistrate that prodded Indore jail authorities to swiftly make arrangements for the release of stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui, who is accused hurting religious sentiments. In the call on Saturday night, Indore's Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) asked the Central Prison authorities here in Madhya Pradesh to check the SC's website for the bail order, following which Faruqui was set free, a senior official from the jail administration said on Sunday. Arrested on January 1 for allegedly hurting religious sentiments, Faruqui was in the jail for 35 days. Petrol price to breach Rs. 100 mark in Hyderabad
New Delhi, 15 Feb 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: Petrol prices in Hyderabad maintained its northward rally on Sunday as oil marketing companies increased it by 30 paise per litre. The rate was hiked for the sixth day in a row. In the city, the price of petrol per litre climbed from Rs. 91.96 on Saturday to Rs. 92.26 on Sunday. During the same period, the price of diesel per litre increased from Rs. 85.89 to Rs. 86.23. If the northward trend continues, the petrol price in Hyderabad may breach the Rs. 100 mark in the next few weeks. Tarun, the partner, has claimed to have married Azra but the court, in its order dated February 12, rejected his claim of her custody after Azra told the court she wanted to go to her parents’ home. “On being asked, the victim (Azra) told the court that she wants to go to her parents.
