Second wave of COVID-19 has started in Karnataka: Siddaramaiah
Bengaluru, 30 Mar 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: Leader of the opposition in the State Assembly and former Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah stressed the need of following the procedures laid down by the government to control the COVID-19 pandemic. Speaking with the mediapersons here, Siddaramaiah felt that the second wave of COVID-19 has started in Karnataka and there is a need to arrest it. For the sake of people's health, the government should ban processions, protests and congregation for a fortnight, he said. "Congress would have organised small gatherings with strict adherence to norms and focus on house-house visit," Siddaramaiah said when asked his party's approach to tackle COVID situation. Karnataka college students start tweet campaign against exams
Bengaluru, 19 Apr 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: With various universities still holding examinations from April 19, students have united to start a twitter campaign against them. Bengaluru North University, Bengaluru City University and Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) had decided to go ahead with their examination schedules for affiliated colleges. “The university is holding the third semester examinations from Monday in the peak of the pandemic. Initially, the university shortened the semester unceremoniously and said exams will be held in January, while the semester started on November 1. Multiple probes launched into bed booking scam, 'communal' angle surfaces
Bengaluru, 06 May 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: As frenetic investigations and corrective measures got under way a day after the alleged bed allocation scam in Bengaluru was exposed - reportedly by Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya and other BJP leaders - a senior official, known for his efforts in Covid management, expressed grief over social media posts linking him to the incident.
