Nasir Mohideen of Westline Group conferred with ‘Outstanding Achievement Award’

Mangaluru, 03 Dec 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Westline Group Managing Director Nasir Mohideen was conferred with the ‘Outstanding Achievement Award for Building Infrastructure Development by the Indian Economic Development and Research Association (IEDRA). Former union home minister Shivraj Patil presented the award to Mohideen at an award presentation programme and a national seminar on ‘Indian Economic Development and Social Responsibility, organized by the IEDRA at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi recently. Disgraceful speech: Case against VHP leader Manjunath Swamy

Udupi, 06 Dec 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: City police filed a case against VHP South region leader Manjunath Swamy on charges of giving derogatory speech against Islam during Janaagraha convention organized by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad at Sri Krishna Mutt Rajangana parking place in the city on December 2, demanding construction of Sri Ram Mandir at Ayodhya. Following a complaint from Ansar Ahmed from Udupi that action should be taken against Manjunath Swamy as his statement was intended to disturb the law and order in the society, the police registered a case against him on Wednesday. 362 candidates file nominations for first phase of LS polls in K'taka Bengaluru

Bengaluru, 27 Mar 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: As the filing of nominations for the first phase of polling for 14 Lok Sabha constituencies ended in Karnataka Tuesday, a total of 455 nominations have been submitted by 362 candidates, poll officials said. Among these, 337 are male candidates and 25 are female, the Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer's office that revised nomination figures late Tuesday night said in a release. Among the constituencies that will go to polls in the first phase on April 18, the highest number of 40 candidates have filed their nomination from Bangalore North and the lowest being Hassan and Chamarajanagar with 13.
