Uppinangady: Landslide on Mangaluru-Bengaluru highway
Uppinangady, 21 Aug 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: For the continuous rainfall, landslides were occurred at Shiradi Ghat on Mangaluru-Bengaluru national highway. In some places, the retention walls were collapsed and soil below the concretised road was eroded due to rain inviting the danger. Though the mud covered on the road due to landslides is being removed, further rain may cause more problem in the area. After 10 years, Siddaramaiah chants Gowda, Gowda
Bengaluru, 11 Apr 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: After more than a decade of rivalry and much bitterness, former chief minister and Congress leader Siddaramaiah on Wednesday joined former PM and national president of the JD(S) H.D. Deve Gowda in Tiptur, Chikkanayakanahalli and Madhugiri taluks in Tumakuru from where Mr Gowda is contesting the Lok Sabha poll. Mr Siddaramaiah was a close associate of Mr Deve Gowda when they were in the Janata Dal and later in the JD(S) but the former parted ways with his mentor and joined the Congress party in 2006. Bengaluru, 20 Apr 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: Taking a jibe at former prime minister HD Deve Gowda, BJP leader and former Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa said that though Gowda’s party is contesting only on a few seats in the state, he is nursing ambitions of becoming the Prime Minister of the country, or at least an advisor to the PM.
