Traffic in Mysuru hit as farmers block highways, demand law to guarantee MSP

Bengaluru, 27 Nov 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: Traffic was disrupted on the busy Mysuru-Bengaluru, Mysuru-Ooty and Chamarajanagar-Coimbatore highways as hundreds of farmers took to the streets to mark the first anniversary of the farmers’ protest against the farm laws that were repealed recently by the Union Government. They also demanded a law to guarantee Minimum Support Price for their produce. Motorists faced hardship as they had to take alternative roads to head towards Mysuru, Bengaluru and Gundlupet. II PU exam results by April-end, says Sait

Bengaluru, 21 Mar 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Tanveer Sait said that the results of the II PUC examination will be declared by the last week of April. In 2017, the results were announced on May 11. To announce the results, 53 evaluation centres have been created this year. Last year, there were 42 centres. Two centres have been added in Kalaburagi for the first time. As many as 23,890 evaluators have been appointed this year, up from about 19,000 last year. With these reinforcements, the results are expected to be announced by the last week of April. The supplementary examination will be conducted in May. Earlier, it was conducted in July. Postcard News' co-founder and editor out on interim bail

Bengaluru, 15 Apr 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Mahesh Vikram Hegde, co-founder and editor of Postcard News, was released on interim bail from Dharwad prison on April 13. He was arrested by Bengaluru's crime branch on charges of spreading fake news and communally provocative content. Hegde, who was arrested on March 29, was released on interim bail after strong arguments by his attorneys. The news was confirmed by BJP MP Pratap Simha in a tweet dated the same day saying: "After 17 days of ordeal, @mvmeet is free now!
