Udupi: Yakshagana artiste Hudagodu Chandrahasa collapses to death on stage
Udupi, 11 Mar 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: A prominent Yakshagana artiste Hudagodu Chandrahasa (52) collapsed to death following a heart attack while performing on stage at Jogibettu village of Byndoor on March 10, Sunday night. Chandrahasa who was of Uttara Kannada origin was a famed artiste of the Badaguthittu form of Yakshagana. BBMP demolishes 2,021 shops at KR Market
Bengaluru, 31 Mar 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: Following High Court intervention, which made the officials take action against encroachments, as many as 2,021 shops were cleared and more than 200 loads of materials including tables, metal sheets and other temporary structures have removed by the BBMP at K.R. Market on Friday, March 29. Reportedly, 48 tractors, 15 trucks, eight compactors, eight JCBs along with 390 BBMP workers, 30 marshals and the police gathered for the crackdown. BBMP officials after carrying out the drive claimed that spots have been identified for the deployment of fire tenders and ambulances during an emergency and no vending will be allowed in these spots and on the entire path leading to the market. Udupi: EC and RTO officials take out ‘Chowkidar’ stickers from vehicles
Udupi, 03 Apr 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: The election officials have swung into action after the 'Chowkidar' battle between the BJP and the Congress reached Udupi. The officers received several complaints from both the parties regarding Chowkidar stickers. Following complaints, the additional deputy commissioner instructed the election officers and RTO on Tuesday to take immediate action. The officers have started removing 'Mei Bhi Chowkidar' and 'Chowkidar Chor Hai' stickers pasted on vehicles. It may be recalled that local Congress leaders and workers had pasted 'Chowkidar Chor Hai' stickers on about 50 cars and auto rickshaws in and around the city.
