Bengaluru, 20 Mar 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: State JD (S) president H D Kumaraswamy on Monday termed the decision of the state government to recommend religious minority status to Lingayats and Veerashaiva Lingayats as an act of vengeance. He told the media here the state government has acted in haste in seeking a report from the committee headed by former high court judge H N Nagamohan Das and recommend minority status in a hurry to the Centre. DU students’ outfit protests against hijab restrictions in colleges in Karnataka

New Delhi, 09 Feb 2022 [Fik/News Sources]: A students’ outfit at Delhi University (DU) on Tuesday protested against hijab restrictions in a government pre-university college in Udupi in Karnataka. The Muslim Students’ Federation protested outside the Arts Faculty in DU North Campus. The gathering comprised 50 students, including women, who were wearing hijabs.
