ISTANBUL, 21 Nov 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Interpol has elected South Korean Kim Jong Yang as its new president, the international police organization said on Wednesday.

On its official Twitter account, the international police body said Kim, who has been serving as acting president, was elected for a two-year term.

The statement came during the body’s annual congress held in Dubai.

Kim replaces Meng Hongwei who went missing in his home country China in September.

Meng later resigned after being charged with accepting bribes.
