Opposition Leaders to Meet President over Farmer Issues
New Delhi, 09 Dec 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: An opposition delegation will meet President Kovind at 5 p.m. on Wednesday to raise the farmers’ issue and request for timely action from the government as the protest of the farmers is continuing in Delhi-NCR. NCP Chief Sharad Pawar said that “the delegation of leaders will be meeting the President tomorrow”. Ahead of the meeting the leaders will be meeting at Pawar’s residence to chalk out a joint strategy. Form Panel to Resolve Farmers’ Blockade, Include 8 Unions: SC
New Delhi, 17 Dec 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: The Supreme Court on Wednesday observed that if urgent measures are not taken now, then the ongoing farmers’ protest may spiral out of the government’s hand to become a national issue. Against this backdrop, it ordered eight farmer unions be made party to the PIL seeking removal of farmers from various Delhi borders, and a joint hearing of the Centre and the farmers’ unions on Thursday in a bid to end the impasse. Aadhar-seeded mobile needed for Covid vaccine
New Delhi, 11 Jan 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: A week before India begins its vaccination drive against Covid-19, officials of the Central government guided administrators from the states and Union territories on Co-WIN software management. The states have been advised, to seed the mobile numbers of all vaccine beneficiaries with Aadhaar for registration and communications through SMS and to ensure that there are no proxies in this process since the beneficiaries need to be uniquely identified. “There cannot be any proxies for Aadhaar authentication.
