Khwaja Yunus Custodial Death: With Case Stalled Since 2018, Court Summons DCP with Progress Report

New Delhi, 29 July 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: A Court in Mumbai has asked the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department to attend court personally on the next date and inform the court about the appointment of a special public prosecutor in the custodial killing case of 27-year old software engineer Khwaja Yunus. Seven Ministers Face Criminal Cases in New Gujarat Cabinet; 19 Are Crorepatis

New Delhi, 18 Sep 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: The Gujarat Election Watch and the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) on Friday published a report on the members of the newly-formed Gujarat Cabinet. The report came a day after newly-appointed Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel allocated portfolios to 24 newly-inducted ministers. As per the report, seven ministers (28 per cent) face criminal cases, of which three have serious criminal charges levelled against them. Discrimination against Muslims Has Increased in India, Finds Poll

New Delhi, 07 Dec 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: More than 56 per cent felt that discrimination against Muslims had increased in the last several years as per an IANS-CVoter snap poll. Respondents to a poll reflected the deeply polarised political environment in the country that exists today. While 43.4 per cent of respondents claimed that discrimination against Muslims had not increased after Narendra Modi became Prime Minister in 2014, 35 per cent of the respondents felt that discrimination against Muslims has increased a lot.
