Karnataka bans all travel from 5 states over Coronavirus fears

Bengaluru, 28 May 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Karnataka has again suspended incoming transport from five states to contain the spiralling coronavirus infection in the state. This time the list has five states instead of earlier four. No flights, trains or other vehicles will allowed to come to the state from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, the state said today.  Maharashtra, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu have reported the highest number of coronavirus cases in India, NDTV reported. The state government took the decision after it turned out that most of the fresh coronavirus cases have been of people travelling in from other states or countries. According to data from the Union Health Ministry, Karnataka so far had 2,418 cases of coronavirus, 781 patients were cured and 47 had died.  While the

Mangaluru and Udupi helps India in saving Rs 5,000 Cr

Mangalore, 06 June 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: India has saved Rs 5,000 crore in foreign exchange while strengthening its energy security by filling the strategic reserves to full capacity with cheap crude oil. Taking advantage of low crude prices due to the Covid-19 situation, India filled its strategic reserves to full capacity in the Mangaluru and Padur storages. The storages at Mangalore and Padur were half-empty and there was some space available in Vizag storage as well. Fed up of ambulance woes, Bengaluru residents now rent their own

Bengaluru, 19 July 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Alarmed by stories in the media of ambulances not reaching on time and patients dying while waiting to get admitted in hospital, the residents of Kanakpura found their own solution. They've gone and rented an ambulance. The ambulance will stand ready to serve the people of Kanakapura for six months. It will transport any sick person to hospital at a moment's notice. The cost to each of the 3700 families of Kanakapura works out to Rs 60 per month. The ambulance is a mini ICU replete with ventilator, PPE kits, cardiac monitor, infusion pump and oxygen cylinder.
