CAA: I will be first to go to detention camp, says Rajasthan CM
New Delhi, 16 Feb 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in a surprise visit to a protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act or CAA in Jaipur demanded that the centre withdraw the amended citizenship law to maintain peace and harmony in the country. “The NDA government should reconsider the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, which is against the spirit of the Constitution, and should come forward to withdraw it so that peace and harmony can be maintained,” Mr Gehlot said at a protest against the CAA and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Jaipur. Owaisi blasts Shah, says Muslims won”t get justice
New Delhi, 12 March 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Soon after Home Minister Amit Shah concluded his address in the Lok Sabha over the Delhi riots, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi slammed the government saying, “Muslims won”t get justice” in the SIT-headed probe and accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of doing politics over dead body. Talking to media outside Parliament, Owaisi said, “He (Amit Shah) wasn”t speaking as a Home Minister, but a BJP spokesperson. I am sure the SIT probe won”t do justice to Muslims who lost their lives, houses and relatives in the clashes that continued for three days.” “Sikhs didn”t get justice following the 1984 riots.
