Mangaluru: Police rescue abducted Kerala businessman, arrest two

Mangaluru, 26 Feb 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: Hosdurg police here have arrested two persons. They have been accused of clandestinely making a man from near Kanhangad, who is currently employed in the Gulf, to visit Mangaluru, confining him in a room there, brutally attacking him and posing him death threats. The injured person, who hails from Padannakkad here, happens to be Haneef (42). He stands admitted into the district hospital at Kanhangad. Those who have been arrested on charges of attacking Haneef are Abubakkar Usman alias Abubakkar, and Ustad Abdul Rashid. Haneef was running a business in the Gulf in the past. Bengaluru: Car crashes into electric pole, causes short circuit, kills man

Bengaluru, 03 Mar 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: In a freak incident, a 64-year-old man was electrocuted at his residence after a speeding car crashed into an electric pole causing a major short-circuit at his house a few metres away from the pole at Dobbspet on Friday evening. The deceased, Ramakrishna, was a farmer and a resident of Kasarughatta Road in Dobbspet. His wife, Revamma, 55, sustained severe injuries on her right hand. Around 7 pm, the speeding car rammed into the electric pole on Kasarughatta Road causing a major short-circuit at Ramakrishna's house, which is 400 metres away from the accident spot. Several families fear a possible outbreak of epidemic disease

Manjeshwar, 15 August 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: Several houses at the first signal at Udyavar within Manjeshwar GP limits have been inundated due to the continuous rain here and the residents fear a possible outbreak of epidemic diseases. The courtyards of the houses belonging to Aleema, Moosa, Monu, Hasina, Meena, Hairaz, Imthiyaz, Mary, UM Kunhi, Hasainar, Husainar, Sushila, Kamala and M S Krishan are completely inundated.
