Floods kill 4 hikers in China

ANKARA, 22 July 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: At least four hikers were killed when heavy rainstorm caused floods in China on Monday, local media reported. A group of 285 hikers from three tourist groups got trapped after the downfall started around 3pm on Sunday (0700) Sunday GMT) in China's eastern Jiangxi province, Xinhua news reported. The rainstorm caused floods in Gaohu town near the city of Yichun which killed four hikers, it added. Germany: Neo-Nazi killer suspected of further attacks

BERLIN, 27 July 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: A neo-Nazi extremist who killed a pro-refugee German politician in June is also suspected of carrying out a knife attack on an asylum seeker in 2016, local media reported on Friday.  Stephan Ernst, the 45-year-old extremist, was arrested last month, several weeks after conservative politician Walter Luebcke was found shot dead at his home's garden in the central German city of Kassel. Der Spiegel, the German newsweekly, reported that the far-right extremist, who admitted to the killing of the politician, is now also suspected of being the perpetrator of a knife attack on an Iraqi asylum seeker in Kassel in 2016. China: Death toll rises to 45 in Typhoon Lekima

BEIJING, 13 August 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: At least 45 people were killed and 16 more remain missing due to a landfall caused by Typhoon Lekima in eastern China, country’s state agency Xinhua reported on Monday.  The deadly Lekima -- the ninth typhoon of the year -- hit Zhejiang province in China's eastern coast and caused a landslide early in the morning on Saturday.  Over one million people have been evacuated from their homes, report said, adding the typhoon caused 16.6 billion yuan ($ 2.3 billion) economic loss.  On Friday morning, China's National Meteorological Center issued a top-level red alert for Lekima with a maximum wind force reaching 209 km/h.  Since Friday, more than 1,000 flights, train and ferry services have been canceled in major parts of east China.  The typhoon
