US sanctions on Venezuela to hurt world oil market

CARACAS, 05 Feb 2019 [Fik/News Sources]:  U.S. sanctions on Venezuelan oil company PDVSA will affect the global market negatively, the oil minister said Monday. In an interview aired by private broadcaster Televen, Manuel Quevedo, also president of the oil company, commented on U.S. sanctions imposed last week on PDVSA and its U.S. subsidiary Citgo. Quevedo said US sanctions and trade wars will affect oil prices in 2019. "What happened to Citgo is totally illegal, a robbery, which was attempted through sanctions," he said. West must reject xenophobia, Islamophobia: Erdogan

WASHINGTON, 20 Mar 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday urged the West to stand against racism, xenophobia and Islamophobia after a terror attack in New Zealand. Erdogan said in the wake of the Christchurch massacre, the West has "certain responsibilities," in an article published in Washington Post newspaper. "Western societies and governments must reject the normalization of racism, xenophobia and Islamophobia, which has been on the rise in recent years," he said. "It is crucial to establish that such twisted ideologies, such as anti-Semitism, amount to crimes against humanity." Young female Afghan journalist shot dead in Kabul

KABUL, 12 May 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: The targeted killing of a young female journalist in the Afghan capital Kabul on Saturday sparked unrest among the community. Mina Mangal was shot dead from close range by unknown assailants in the eastern Rehman Baba locality of Kabul on Saturday morning, the country’s Ministry of Interior said in a statement. Nusrat Rahimi, the ministry spokesman, said police has begun probe into this apparent case of targeted killing of the female journalist.
